It’s been 15 years since the Ipl was introduced in India, the 1st season was played in 2008. Ipl changed the definition and craze of cricket in India.

IPL (Indian Premier League) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India, which the Board of Control founded for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The league features eight franchise teams representing different cities in India, and it is considered as one of the most popular and lucrative cricket leagues in the world.

 

The league is played over a period of approximately two months each year, typically between March and May, and features some of the best cricket players from around the world. Each team plays a total of 14 matches in the league stage, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs till 2021 it used to be held every year in this format.

Last year the format of the whole IPL changes because 2 more teams were introduced and a total number of teams became 10. So the matches and schedules change completely

2020 – The thirteenth season of the IPL was held in the United Arab Emirates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the tournament was won by the Mumbai Indians for the fifth time.

 

2021 – The fourteenth season of the IPL was held in India, but was suspended midway due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament resumed in the United Arab Emirates, and was won by the Chennai Super Kings for the fourth time.

 

2022 – The fifteenth season of the IPL was held in India, In they were 2 new teams added the competition became much tougher than usual, It was a big hit considering 2 more teams in the tournament. That tournament was won by one of the new team name Gujrat titans.
