Virat Kohli ~A living legend.
Virat Kohli is unquestionably a cricket legend who will live on in the annals of the game. However, this blog post will provide you with numerous reasons to fall in love with him as a person and make him a role model in your life.
I enjoy cricket and support the Indian cricket team. I recall him being very young when he was called up to the Indian cricket team for the 2011 ICC World Cup.
We all knew he had some special talent at the time, but we didn’t know how he would perform under pressure.
He displayed a lot of character and talent in the final match against Sri Lanka, scoring 32, but when he came to bat, it was a very nerve-racking situation that worked against us. By that point, the entire country was aware that Virat Kohli would be a major player.
As A Indian Cricket Fan
I didn’t like Kohli at first because something about him struck me as arrogant and unlikable. I used to be jealous whenever he scored a run; I’m not sure why, but I never liked him during his prime years. Not only that, but I used to be someone who was happy when Virat Kohli got out, despite knowing it was a huge loss.
Remember when he used to get 100s every other day? I used to be annoyed every time and wonder how anyone could be so consistent.
The aggressive:- Virat Kohli
We were all aware of his consistency as a player, but his dedication, hardworking nature, and mamba mentality distinguished him. Seeing him play cricket live in the stadium is a visual treat. When the BCCI appointed him as Team India’s Test Captain, it was an unfortunate moment for me because I had a lot of respect for Ms Dhoni. However, Virat Kohli demonstrated what a dominant test team looked like. In the field, he was extremely aggressive. Every player was pumped and hungry to score runs and take wickets. During his captaincy, India dominated the test format for the previous four years.
Then, in 2018, he was given the opportunity to captain Team India in all three formats; his performance as a captain was admirable. He was doing a commendable job as a captain, he was scoring runs, he was winning the matches he was very dominating, and it was going well, but people began to lose faith in him after he failed to win the 2019 ODI World Cup. His contribution as a captain was not up to the mark, so as a batsman. Everyone began to question his place on Team India during this period.
The down phase of Virat Kohli
Everyone assumed that Kohli’s career was over, and that he would be unable to score runs in future matches. People trolled him mercilessly (forgetting his contribution of 70 hundred and thousands of runs for the Indian cricket team). Many cricket legends began mocking him and advising him not to play for the Indian cricket team.
He choked several times on the field and was not concentrating on his strong points. He used to play as if he needed to prove something, and that strategy wasn’t working. Furthermore, he became depressed and began to fake his enthusiasm for cricket. People expect him to perform well in every game.
As a result, they heavily trolled his phase.
He began to feel low and tense about his game. When he took a month off just before the Asia Cup 2022 and World Cup 2022, everyone questioned why he was leaving in such poor shape. He should play more in order to regain his prime form.
The comeback of the legend that made me fall in love with him.
When he took a month off from cricket and didn’t even touch the bat or practice cricket, he realized he was faking his energy on the field and trying too hard to score runs, rather than playing his natural game. After a month, he joined Team India and restarted everything. The reason I will never forget this line is that having the courage to admit his weaknesses and mistakes in an interview, accepting the mistakes, and starting over is not small talk for a player who has scored 70 hundred.
He was very fresh and began playing and practicing. When he returned, he said something in an interview that I will never forget in my life: “I am leaving everything aside, my entire career aside, and I am starting everything fresh as I was in 2008, and I will not think about trollers or the outside world anymore, I will just give my 200% in the field, and what is important to me is the team environment.” The reason I will never forget this line is that having the courage to admit his weaknesses and mistakes in an interview, accepting the mistakes, and starting over is not small talk for a player who has scored 70 hundred.
After that, he had a great performance in the Asia Cup, which surprised trollers, and trollers began to become his fans again.
When he scored his 71st century and first in T20Is against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup, everyone was taken aback. He said something in an interview after the Asia Cup that made me admire him as a person and a role model. It was the following that turned my hatred into love: “I thank God for the most difficult period of my life, which made me realize many things and made me stronger mentally and as a person.” (I swear I’ll never forget his lines.) We did lose the Asia Cup, but we were all relieved to see Virat Kohli back in form.
Ending this with a tribute to the legend of the game.
I may not be his biggest fan, but I respect him as a person. I’d like to thank Virat Kohli for being so open about his journey and for everything he’s done for cricket and Team India.
