Ruturaj Gaikwad is CSK opener. In December 2018, Gaikwad was bought by the CSK in the auction for the 2019 IPL after some average performance Ruturaj show’s his capability to score runs in 2021 IPL where he is the leading run-scorer in CSK and also grab the orange cap in 2021 IPL (Indian Premier League).
One reason Ruturaj should be the captain of CSK is his confidence, calmness and experience as a captain.
In the 2021 Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Gaikwad captained Maharashtra and scored 259 runs in five matches at an average of 51.80. Including three fifties at a strike rate of 150.71. He is the top scorer in that tournament.
In November 2022-2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ruturaj led Maharashtra and led Maharashtra into the final with his batting and captaincy skills.
