Asia Cup is on the horizon and Team India is the favorite to clinch it. Also, the ODI World Cup is not far and preparations have begun all over the world for it as well. The squad is announced and as expected, Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian Team in both the tournaments. So, let’s dwell into how his batting and his captaincy can bring the cups home which will roll into tasting the pleasure of being the captain of Asia & World Cup winning team, something which MS Dhoni has done it in the past. And for that, Rohit needs to bat just like he did against Sri Lanka when he scored 264 runs (highest ever in ODIs) off 173 balls which included 33 fours and 9 sixes.
Unfortunately, Rohit Sharma is past his prime and is in lackluster form in the recent tournaments, no standout innings or performances by him. This was one of the reasons he was dropped from T20 series against WI which was led by Hardik Pandya. So, its now or never for our Hitman and maybe his last year as a captain of Indian National Cricket Team. So, he should make the most of it and finish his captaincy tenure in style.
So, here are some quotes which our current ODI skipper should go through before he embarks upon the ultimate phase of his cricketing career:
“In the final showdown, only the strongest souls prevail, rising above the challenges to claim victory.” -Unknown
“When the dust settles and the battle smoke clears, it’s the victors of the final showdown who etch their names into history.” -Unknown
“In the heart-pounding silence before the final showdown, destiny holds its breath, waiting for a champion to emerge.” -Unknown
“The final showdown is not just about strength and skill, but about the will to rise, to conquer, and to become more than what you were.” -Unknown
“In the arena of the final showdown, courage stands tall, determination roars, and the spirit soars beyond limits.” -Unknown
“The final showdown is where dreams face trials, and aspirations are put to the ultimate test.” -Unknown
“As the sun sets on the final showdown, only the unwavering souls remain, ready to write their story in the annals of time.” -Unknown
We expect records to be broken and legacies to be established in Hitman’s final showdown. He will carry the whole team and will lead from the front from what we call a captain, a leader and a legend. So, its step up or step aside for him and we are positive that he will end his international career in a high note and will do anything and everything he can to win the trophies which will spark his resume.
Whether or not India wins, or The Hitman passes the captaincy torch, after these tournaments, there will be a new era of Indian cricket, a era which enforces the rage of the young, boiling blood, similar to what we saw after 2011 World Cup which India won and Sachin’s last, and just like that, the Hitman might pave way for rising stars and future of Indian Cricket to establish a strong, cohesive side for the years to come and destinies to be fulfilled.
